Toxic plants: these plants are poisonous

Poisonous plants for pets and humans
Poisonous plants for cats are notorious because these pets often chew on the plants to get rid of hairballs by vomiting. But there are also poisonous houseplants for dogs. Animals that eat plants usually recognise the ones they had better not eat, but even a rabbit can sometimes choose the wrong greenery. If you have animals outside, it is always wise to find out whether there are plants growing nearby that are poisonous for horses or, for example, also for chickens. If there are plants in your garden that are dangerous to humans, always be careful with children.

Some poisonous plants
A number of houseplants that do appear in most living rooms are toxic to humans, cats and to dogs for various reasons. So always be careful if you have the following plants at home:

Spoon plant or spathiphyllum, it is mildly toxic to humans and animals.
Yucca plant, toxic to humans and animals. The fibres in the leaves can further irritate the intestines.
The lipstick plant is not known to be particularly poisonous, but several parts are inedible and cause irritation.
The calla plant is a popular new houseplant because of its beautiful colours and shapes. However, this plant is also quite toxic in all parts.
